Groundworks began on the new Linkwood primary school in Elgin for the Moray Council in March 2019 with the building achieving practical completion on 8th December 2020.

The main contractor was Balfour Beatty and the principal designers were JM Architects.

It can cater for up to 476 pupils, including Additional Support Needs provision for up to 12 pupils. There is also space for 40 nursery pupils and 53 staff.

There is also an external roof terrace and plant deck area.

Outside play areas include a multi-use games area (MUGA) along with an allotment and outdoor classroom along with a sports hall.
