Woodside Fountain Health Centre

Contract type – Design, Build, Finance & Maintain

On a prominent site between Aberdeen’s Great Northern Road and Marquis Road, the new Woodside Fountain Health Centre provides a range of facilities for thousands of patients in the area.

Replacing the previous Woodside Medical Group base, the innovative building includes 12 consulting rooms, a minor procedures suite and additional treatment and consulting space. An NHS dental practice, with three consulting rooms, also features within the complex as well as a dedicated wing for its health and social care integrated team. It is fully accessible, with the new site also incorporating a car park with five dedicated disabled spaces.

The facility was handed over to NHS Grampian in June 2014 and was part of the first health bundle delivered in the national hub programme, involving three projects between two health boards.

A total of 40 jobs were created as a result of the development, with work being completed just over a year after its official turf cutting. The new facility has been welcomed by a host of dignitaries, including Mark McDonald, MSP for Aberdeen Donside, who visited the development during construction.

The new and improved centre has greatly enhanced health care provision within Aberdeen’s city centre and has been warmly received by its most important stakeholders; its users.

This is a fantastic investment in state of the art and health facilities in my constituency and I am delighted that money is being spent on such important projects in the city.

I can see that the centre will have a huge positive impact upon the community and the facilities on offer will be of great benefit to my constituents.
