Forres Medical Centre

Contract type – Design, Build, Finance & Maintain

Part of the bundle with Tain Health Centre and Woodside Fountain Health Centre, Forres Health Centre was officially handed over to NHS Grampian by hub North Scotland in August 2014.

Serving a practice population of over 15,000, the facility on the town’s Grantown Road replaced the old Forres Health Centre which was no longer fit for purpose.

Home to two general practices, the Forres Practice and Varis Practice, the building consists of 18 consulting rooms, a range of community nursing and midwifery services, a dedicated treatment space for outpatients along with podiatry consulting, rehab therapy and a diagnostic room.

A host of radiology and ambulatory services, alongside rehabilitation and therapy services are also provided by the facility. The Minor Injuries Unit from Leanchoil has also moved to the new building.

The complex has reduced the need for patients to travel to Aberdeen and Dr Grays in Elgin for specific treatments and will continue to serve the people of Forres and surrounding area for years to come.

It’s a good facility with excellent resources. We will see health and social care working in partnership to provide a wider range of services so it is a positive move for Forres.
