Alness Academy
Contract type – Design & Build
Construction has been completed on Phase 1 of the £34 million replacement for Alness Academy on behalf of the Highland Council with Kier Construction as the main contractors.
The new school can cater for 660-pupils and has community facilities including a six-lane swimming pool, a games hall, gym, and two floodlit 3G pitches.
The new school, which was built on the site of the existing facility overlooking the Cromarty Firth, achieved practical completion in October 2020. The former school is being demolished to make way for the two all-weather sports pitches.
