Dec 17, 2015

A number of S1, S2 and S3 pupils recently visited the construction site of the new Anderson High School to see first-hand the progress being made in the project.

Accompanied by various members of the Shetland media, the pupils were given a guided tour of what eventually will be a first class facility of which the pupils and surrounding community can benefit from for generations to come.

The tours will continue on a monthly basis in order for the facility’s most important stakeholders to fully understand the mechanics behind the school build.

The new £55.75 million Anderson High School project is being delivered by hub North Scotland with main contractors Morrison Construction. The school and residential building have been designed by Ryder Architecture are scheduled to be completed by late summer 2017. Two thirds of the funding will come from the Scottish Government, through Scottish Futures Trust.
