Contract Type Design & Build
Construction is under way for the new Badenoch & Strathspey Community Hospital and Health Care Centre in Aviemore for NHS Highland.
Plans for the new facility have been approved by the Cairngorms National Park Authority and the Scottish government has approved the full business case. The new hospital will have 24-beds, 12 consulting/treatment rooms, an Accident & Emergency department and x-ray facilities.
It will also provide accommodation for the Aviemore GP practice along with community health and care teams. There will also be physiotherapy and occupational therapy services, chemotherapy, a midwife service and a Scottish Ambulance Service base.
The facility is one of two community hospitals for NHS Highland in a £40 million project. The second hospital will be the new Skye, Lochalsh & South West Ross community hospital at Broadford on Skye.
