Construction was completed on the new Badenoch & Strathspey Community Hospital in Aviemore for NHS Highland on Friday 17th September 2021.
It is the first new hospital to be constructed in the Cairngorms National Park and will have 24-beds, 12 consulting/treatment rooms, a minor injuries unit with after-hours access via NHS24, an NHS dental suite and X-ray facilities.
It also provides accommodation for the Aviemore GP practice along with community health and care teams. There will also be physiotherapy and occupational therapy services, chemotherapy, a midwife service and a Scottish Ambulance Service base.
The facility is one of two community hospitals for NHS Highland in a £40 million project. The second hospital will be the new Broadford Hospital on Skye.
