Construction was completed on the new Badenoch & Strathspey Community Hospital in Aviemore for NHS Highland on Friday 17th September 2021.
It is the first new hospital to be constructed in the Cairngorms National Park and has 24-beds, 12 consulting/treatment rooms, a minor injuries unit with after-hours access via NHS24, an NHS dental suite and X-ray facilities.
It also provides accommodation for the Aviemore GP practice along with community health and care teams. There are also physiotherapy and occupational therapy services, chemotherapy, a midwife service and a Scottish Ambulance Service base.
The facility is one of two community hospitals for NHS Highland in a £40 million project. The second hospital will be the new Broadford Hospital on Skye.
