Venture North, a group of small businesses dedicated to growing the tourism sector for Caithness and Sutherland has received £1,000 from hub North Scotland, the driving force behind the planning, procurement and delivery of the new Wick Community Campus and Noss Primary School.
The money is set to be used by Venture North to enhance its marketing and promotional activity in the coming months as it forges ahead with plans to collaborate with other businesses to grow and strengthen the region’s tourist offering. A new website is integral to these plans.

“Successful partnerships are something that we’ve placed an importance on from day one so it’s great that hub North has come on-board with our vision. We want to give Caithness and Sutherland an all-encompassing and well-designed web presence and the money donated by hub North will be used to help us meet this goal.”
Angus Macfarlane, chief executive of hub North Scotland, said: “As well as leaving a lasting legacy through the construction of fantastic facilities that will serve various communities for years to come, we take great pride in promoting significant investment in the local economy during the development of specific projects; both through contracts to those on the local supply chain and, to a lesser degree, our own CSR activity.
“We’re delighted to be support Venture North in its goal of bringing businesses and individuals together for the benefit of the area they operate in. It fits in with the values that underpin a lot of our own activity and we’re looking forward to developing this relationship with Venture North in the months ahead.”
